Pet Tag: Sir Pugsly the Pug

Hello! I found this tag off another blogger and thought it would be fun to do!

.:What is your pet:.
A pug

.:What is their name:.
Sir Pugsly
... but we usually call him "Pugsly" or "Pugs"

.:How old are they:.
Almost 1 1/2 years old

.:Where did you get them:.
He was a surprise New Year's gift from my mom! My sister randomly texted me one day with a picture of him and a message saying, "Look what mom brought home for you," and I fell in love! He looked so tiny compared to my mom's slipper.

.:Why did you want to get this particular breed/species:.
To be honest, I did not like pugs at all! I originally wanted a toy dog (i.e. shih tzu, pekingese, maltipoo), but after having Pugsly... I'm 100% a pug lover. They have so much personality, and I love how all pugs share common characteristics. One of my favorite things to do is take Pugsly to the dog park and see him play with other pugs. They just look like little pigs running around - it's too cute!

.:Do they know any tricks:.
Yes! I don't know if pugs are really smart or I just got super lucky. Pugsly knows how to sit, lay down, paw, high five, stand up, speak, stay, roll over, play dead, twirl, kiss, give me his toy, and go to his dog pen on command. The tricks were easy to teach -- I'm more proud of the fact that he's completely housebroken! No more stinky carpet!

.:Do they snuggle, give kisses, follow you around:.
Pugsly LOVES to snuggle... a little too much. He squeezes himself into the most awkward areas.

.:What are some of the funny things they do to make you laugh:.

When he acts like a creeper dog and stares at you from afar/a corner

When he had an allergic reaction and his face swelled up

How he can sleep all day...

... hog up the bed...

... and give you a dirty look after waking him up LOL

How he naturally looks like the saddest/most scared dog in the world

As you can tell, I'm completely obsessed with my pug! Feel free to do this tag too!

SweetHeart VoxBox 2013

I was fortunate enough to be selected to receive Influenster's SweetHeart VoxBox this year, and I want to take the time to write some quick reviews on each of the items I received!

I am a huge lover when it comes to sweet, high-fiber snacks. Thus, I was really excited to try Skinnygirl On-the-Go Bars in coco-nut. However, when opening the package... the snack did not look very appealing. After taking a few bits, the flavor was alright and the texture was a little off. It was chewy (which is expected) but quite grainy. It was a little disappointing, but I am hoping the other flavors are better. 2/5

After watching DulceCandy's YouTube video on Olay's Fresh Effects Powered Contour Cleansing System, I was most definitely excited! I thought the size of the cleaning tool would be great for traveling and a great alternative to my Clarisonic Mia. However, the tool really does absolutely nothing to my skin! The cleanser smells absolutely wonderful, but as you can see from my used cotton pad, both the cleanser and vibrating cleansing tool failed to remove the concealer around my eyes and light setting powder. 2/5

I absolutely adore Secret, and I completely trust the brand when it comes to deodorants/antiperspirants. Secret's Clinical Strength Stress Response smells great and does wonders when it comes to blocking sweat when you're dealing with a lot of stress. 5/5

Now, Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray was an absolute surprise! I've never heard/tried the brand, and I am so glad it was one of the items in my VoxBox. This item claims to give your hair texture and the "I was just at the beach" look, and it can be applied to either dried or wet hair. I decided to test this product after washing my hair, and I absolutely love what it does to my hair! Only downfall is, because the product's main ingredient is salt, it does make the ends of your hair feel a little dry. 4/5

Until next time, I will talk to you ladies soon! xoxo

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Review: imPRESS Press-On Manicure

Product: imPRESS Press-On Manicure
Price: $8.49 at CVS.com
Claim: Lasts up to a week, no drying time, easy removal

Pros:
  1. Very quick application!
  2. 12 sizes available (more ideal for girls with smaller nail buds)
  3. Feels very comfortable on your nails - not too curved
  4. No glue involved
  5. Very easy to remove
  6. Gives illusion of having acrylic nails
Cons:
  1. One nail broke off after washing my hands the first time
  2. Nail designs aren't too appealing
  3. Price is high for the quality of the product
Overall: Although they don't offer really cute designs, if you're in a rush and in need of getting your nails done for an event, I think these would be a good investment. However, I do think that because these are stick-ons, they don't hold onto your nail beds very well and can easily fall off - not cute having a missing nail at an event!

Feel Stressed? Have too Many Headaches?

Credits to Originsskincare.com

For all of my fellow undergraduate/graduate bloggers, I wish you guys all the best of luck on your finals!

If you guys are feeling extra stressed and need something to calm your nerves during your study (or whenever!), take a little break and purchase Origins' Piece of Mind!

This little baby is a lifesaver during times of stress, and it's for sure something I make sure I have in stock.
How to apply: Apply a small amount on your temples (my fave), back of neck, earlobes
How does it feel: It has a cool, tingly sensation when applied on the skin (similar to Vick's Vapor Rub, but more gentle of course!)
How does it smell: Very light minty smell
Size: 0.5 fl. oz./15 ml
Cost: $11.00

 Other ways of relieving stress:
  1. Play with your pets. Studies show playing with your pets (or even spending a minute watching/feeding your fishes) can reduce stressors!
  2. Exercise/Go on a walk. Just take out 15minutes of your day and take a walk. It can relax your mind and will make studying/working more effective when you return to your work.
  3. DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Your body is overworking itself (while being in Fight-or-Flight mode), so chances are, you're very dehydrated. Drink water to hydrate your body and reduce the risk of headaches/dizziness.
  4. Take a break. Take a shower, eat a little (try not to though! This can lead you to be an emotional eater!), watch a little tv - all of that works! Your mind just needs a breather. I take breaks & read blogs ;)
  5. Spend 2 minutes taking deep, deep breathes! Increasing oxygen into your brain helps
  6. Prioritize! Too many deadlines? Break down the things you need to do, and make a list. Organize them in the order of what needs to be done first. You can then see things in a larger picture, and see that everything is doable!
  7. Take a nap (if possible)! Your brain can't work if it's too strained. Even taking a nap for 15 minutes can do wonders!

Those are just my personal tips. If you guys have any more methods, feel free to share with me! :)

Urband Decay's NAKED 2 Palette!

Photo credits to Makeup and Beauty Blog

As you guys may know, UD released a 2nd version of the NAKED palette: NAKED2. They changed the casing and add a few new shades, but.... I don't know! I can't decide if the NAKED2 palette is worth getting. Black Friday Goodies :)

Thanksgiving Break was amaaaazing, and it was exactly what I needed to calm my nerves from school. Mike decided he wanted to partake in Black Friday this year, so of course I had no choice but to join in. All I can say is that people are crazy, and I can't believe how a simple sale can bring out the WORST in people!

Luckily, I made it out of Best Buy alive :3 Best Buy opened at midnight, and Mike and I were there at 10:30pm. There was easily almost a thousand of people ahead of us! Some people already had tents ready since Monday, too -.-

After the wait, we finally got in! Mike & I split up, got everything we wanted, met up at the checkout line, and left like we won a million bucks (even though we SPENT $$ rather than WON $$ lol)! We ended up snagging: two 23" LED monitors, 2 blu-ray movies, 1 PS3, and 2 iPads.

And guess who received the iPad as an early x-mas present for being such a good girlfriend? Hehehehe ^_^

I won NYX Cosmetic's Facebook Give Away!

During this Thanksgiving break, I was away from the internet because I was too busy getting fat and burning my money. Most of my time was spent either eating or shopping, and in between those two activities, I would slip in sleep every now and then hehe ^_~

Today, I finally updated my Facebook and found this message hidden in my Facebook inbox:

This message was so exciting and  unexpected! I seriously just entered and had little hopes of winning, and voila! Reading this message was truly the cherry on top to this great weekend.

According to NYX's Facebook page, it looks like I will be receiving these products:

So exciting! I'll be sure to keep you guys updated when I receive the products! Thank you so much, NYX Cosmetics!

EDIT// Now, I'm getting a little skeptical because I received the message from Nyx Ko, and not NYX Cosmetic themselves... I already sent them my information... I hope it's not a fake!! Okay, I'm starting to freak out now lol

UPDATE// It's not a scam! Phew!

Rock and Republic... sold at Kohl's?!

Thanks to NOVICESTYLE, I read that Rock and Republic filed for bankruptcy, and their clothes will be sold exclusively to Kohl's. Wait... what?! So I googled it, and I came across this article, where it states:

Rock & Republic, the rhinestone-pocketed denim line founded in 2002 by Michael Ball and Andrea Bernholtz, is leaving its designer-priced days behind in favor of something a bit more wallet friendly: Kohl’s.
Kohl’s Corp. and VF Corp., which acquired Rock & Republic in March after the company filed for bankruptcy in 2010, announced today that Rock & Republic will be sold exclusively in the thrifty department store, starting in Spring 2012.

Ah, crazy! I love all of my R&B denim and leggings, but now I'm sad I spent so much on them haha. Kohl's has not released the prices that they will be sold at, but I will for sure buy a pair to do a review on them. I'm kinda sad... but I think my wallet will be a little happier ;)

I. Is. Tired.

Sorry if I haven't been leaving some love on your posts, girls. I worked 14 hours (7am-9:15pm) on Veteran's Day Friday, 6 hours (9am-3pm) today on Saturday, and I will be working 10 hours (7am-5pm) on Sunday.

On top of that.... I have a calculus & chemistry exam on Monday!!! COOOOOOOOOOOOL HUH? (-___-)

This is very non-FOTD worthy... but due to stress and the rain, lately, I've just been wearing my MAC Studio Fix powder, AmazingCosmetics concealer, NARS Orgasm blush, NYX bronzer, and some mascara. And sometimes, when I feel naughty & wild... I might throw in some neutral brown eye shadows & eye liner. LOL
